Ronald Koeman has done a good job in his first season at the Goodison Park as he managed to take Everton to a place in the Europa League after a 7th place finish last season. The Toffees striker Romelu Lukaku is close to walking through the exit door after he revealed that he wants to play for a club which competes in the Champions League regularly.
The Toffees are not afraid of losing the Belgian man as they have set a huge price tag of £100m, which both Manchester United and Chelsea are set to meet. However, it will not be easy for Koeman to find a replacement and reports suggest that he is considering a move for Anderlecht’s Lukasz Teodorczyk as a possible replacement for the former Chelsea man.
According to Liverpool Echo, Koeman’s side are set battle it out with local rivals Liverpool for the services of the £10million rated Polish forward, who has established himself as one of the most important players in Europe.
Teodorczyk is currently his club first choice striker and also in Poland having bagged 30 goals and 5 assists across all competitions last season. It was his first full season in Belgium and the fact that he scored incredible number of goals show that he is now ready for the next step.
Capable of leading his side’s attack, the Poland international is also adept at playing with a strike partner and is a good finisher. At 26, Teodorczyk has gathered some serious exposure and experience at the highest level, seeing the net 5 times and amassing up an assist in the Europe league last season.
Strong in the air and a decent holder of the ball in crucial areas. Though he may not be able to emulate Lukaku in his first season at Everton, he definitely looks like a player who will play hard in the English league.
Koeman is known to build his team around best players and he did that with Lukaku. The results were superb. And if it is that he has decided that the Polishman is the right man for the job, he will surely be able to get the best out of him too.
Everton need to act quickly if they want to sign him as Liverpool are ready to make a £10m bid for his services. At that price, Ronald Koeman can afford to take risk on him, and still be able to sign another name to his squad, making Everton a strong side. However, he should not let his Merseyside side rival hijack him away as he could turn into the superstar in he years to come.
