Chelsea are yet to make their first signing of the summer transfer window but having won the Premier League title last campaign, Antonio Conte will have to make sure that the important player at the club stays for the upcoming years. To achieve that, the first player the Blues manager must probably tie down to a new contract is Eden Hazard.

The explosive Belgian striker admitted that he would be open to a move Real Madrid and Chelsea mud act quickly before the reigning Champions make complete use of the situation. Hazard has been Chelsea’s talisman in their two title winning season in the last three years.

Hazard is now a wanted product at the Bernabeu. Real’s boss Zinedine Zidane has won the Champions League for two consecutive seasons now but is sure to improve on the quality in his first team and wants the Chelsea winger in his side next season.

Hazard has showed that it will be difficult for him to ignore an offer from the Spanish capital. However, Chelsea are also ready to offer him huge wages to make him sign a new deal and below are three reasons why they must get it done quickly.

European interests

It’s still early in the pre-season stages to be worried about transfer but the current news as seen clubs complete their deals even before the opening of the transfer window. Therefore, the Blues should not take a risk and should table the contract immediately. The Belgian is a rare breed and is one of hr few players who can into Madrid’s first team.

Eden Hazard

Hazard is a world class player and will surely be subject of a bid from the La Liga giants, and if he is on his current wages, he might be moved to make the move.

His creativity

The 26-year old is a bag of tricks and is one of the toughest players to defend against not just in England but also in Europe. Though his stats do not make him one of the best in Europe, his playing style and the amount of influence he has on the team certainly does.

Chelsea play to his strengths and get the best out of him and his creativity is what that got them out through some tough situations last season. They cannot afford to go into the new season with a new name in his position and should do what it takes to tie him up.

Lack of replacements

Though he will go for a hefty fee, Chelsea will have to dig deep and probably spend all the money they recieve, if they are to replace him with the right man. Conte is going to lead his side in the Champions League next season and cannot do with weak links in his squad.

He can’t let the squad get disrupted at the moment, just to get in a new player, who will take time to adjust to the conditions in England. So surely, Chelsea just cannot afford to lose him before the start of the next season.
