There have been different updates concerning Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s health status as of late.

When he moved to the Premier League on  a free transfer from PSG last summer, there were doubts whether he was worth the hassle as the 35-year old was considered outdated for the EPL.

But after netting 28 goals across all competitions, Ibra has shown he can still compete at the top of the game. That was until his season came to an abrupt end in the Europe League game against Anderlecht.

Zlatan sustained a cruciate knee ligament against RSCA, and he has since been under medical care in America, undergoing surgery in April.

In a more encouraging news, his agent Mino Raiola confirmed last week that the operation was successful and Ibra will once again be able to compete professionally, while Zlatan, on social media, also expressed his delight at being cleared to play.

Swedish publication Expressen have released another update regarding Zlatan during the course of the weekend, and once more, the news is pleasant.

According to their report, the doctors who performed the surgery on Ibra were so amazed with his strenght so much so that they wish to make more medical research with the United forward once he retires from football.

Raiola also told Expressen that medical practitioners Dr. Fu and Dr. Musahl have dumbfounded by Zlatan, he said:

‘His knees are so strong that doctors said they had never seen anything like it.

‘He has a knee that’s almost impossible for a football player with a 20 year long career to have. It was perfectly clean, there were no damage to it.

‘Zlatan’s knee is so strong that the doctor’s want him to return after his career to do research on him. They work at the world’s best research institute for knees and ligaments.

‘They research a lot about the subject and that is why they are better than everyone else. So after Zlatan’s career we will go back and open him again to research his ligament.’

Though he is fit to return to the field, his future remains unclear as the Swede’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of this season.
