Manchester United are once again linked with a move for Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez following reports from Spain that the player contacted agent Jorge Mendes to arrange the move.

According to reports by Diario Gol, James’ wife is hunting for a new home and despite having a good time in the Spanish capital; she is looking beyond the Spanish territory. And while she searches London, her attention is directed mainly at Manchester

Despite having a good record at the La Liga club, it is believed that James is ready to step out of the club after accepting Zinedine Zidane might not consider him worthy of the first team. He could have left last summer, but he was willing to endure and prove himself to the coach.

Experiencing another season of being underused, James has been given the push needed and is now determined to start all over with another outfit. Super-agent Mendes seemed to have been handed the responsibility of achieving this.

Mendes as expected have connections at Old Trafford since United boss Jose Mourinho tops his client list. That would make securing negotiations more easier, although it remains to be seen if United have need for James’ services.

Real Madrid splashed almost €80m on the Colombian in 2014 and would want a return on their investment. With this, his asking price would probably be on the high side.

Unted have been previously linked with the 25-year-old back when he was at Porto but it is uncertain if was serious interest or just speculation.

Examining the United squad which includes Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba holding the midfield positions, as well as star players like Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, one needs to ask if Signing James would be a necessity.

Although Wayne Rooney might be saying his goodbyes come season end and Zlatan Ibrahimovic unfit to play till 2018, the club has been linked with lots of top goalscorers this summer in an effort to improve the quality of the team’s play. A player who can pick up more goals for the United is what they need at Old Trafford.
