With Tottenham Hotspur in pole position for the Champions League football next season, Anthony Modeste with Luis Muriel and Bas Dost are one among few players the Spurs can sign for a brighter performance in the prestige league next season.

The North London club have been one of the most consistent side in the Premier League this campaign as they now stand 4 points close to Chelsea in the EPL ranking table. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will hope his side can end the season in good position and would be planning to add some quality to his attack at the end of the season. Dutch star Vincent Janssen has shown big improvement but they need another striker who’d be ready to slot into the team and perform impressively.

The Spurs’ Argentine boss cannot spend big this summer as he is blessed with a decent squad already and will have to find some cheap alternatives in attack. We talk more on the three bright underrated strikers who Pochettino should target this summer, as a backup for Harry Kane.

Luis Muriel (US Sampdoria):

Luis Muriel

Luis Muriel has been a revelation for Italian striker Sampdoria, who has been scoring goals for fun since his move back in 2015. Muriel has been in superb form this season, bagging 12 goals and amassing 9 assists in all competitions and is a player Pochettino will love instantly. The Colombian international is known for his passing and finishing abilities, he likes to dribble past his opponents before unleashing his dangerous foot and will surely be a the best thing since slice bread in the Premier League. Muriel has constantly been linked with a move to Chelsea but the North London club should take a look at him as an option to play as backup for Kane and also as an upgrade on Janssen this summer.

Anthony Modeste (FC Koln):

Anthony Modeste

Anthony Modeste has been one of the most consistent goal scorers in the Ligue 1 for some time now, Modeste has had yet another productive season with the German side this season. The 28-year-old is an experienced player who will be ready for the big step up and the Spurs can offer him Champions League football to bring him to White Hart Lane this summer. Known for his strength, and superb finish abilities, the Frenchman is tailor-made for the Premier League and would be a perfect fit for the North London club. This season, Modeste has bagged 25 goals and notched up 3 assists across all competition for the French side and if he can keep on with his superb form, he may climb up the ladder, above Vincent Janssen next season.

Bas Dost (Sporting CP):

Bas Dost

Here is another player who can boost Tottenham’s title bid for next season. After a slightly quiet two season, the Dutch man came back to life after his move to the Portuguese league, where Dost has been in brilliant form for Sporting CP. The 27-year-old is a player known for his strength in holding up the ball. Dost is a deadly finisher; one of the best in the league at the moment, he has bagged 30 goals and created 5 assists in all competition this season. Dost is strong in air and is a player who is in great touch. He could be the perfect second choice for Harry Kane, leaving out-of-form Vincent Janssen with little pressure on his shoulders. He only joined the Portuguese side at the beginning of the season but a player at his age, is still in his prime of his career and Mauricio Pochettino should do all it takes in signing him this summer.
