With Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs’ future hanging, manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly been keeping tabs on Kieran Tierney. Tierney has been receiving acclaim from participating in Celtic’s games against Rangers and others as well as Europe’s Champions League. Brendan Rodgers has preference for him instead of Emilio Izaguirre in the League this campaign. The Scottish will soon displace Andy Robertson in the Scotland national team from the left-back position.

Arsenal are known for picking left-backs off the market. They are responsible for the conversion of the likes of Gio Van Bronckhorst, Gael Clichy and Ashley Cole to left-back. With this, Tierney fits perfectly Arsenal’s kind of player and he is without a doubt better than their current players in the position.

His impending rise to the Scotland first team will give him a much needed international experience, adding another feather to his cap. Without a doubt, English Premier League will look daunting to the youngster and he will need to polish his game to be able to withstand the league pressure. However, with hope that information obtained from scouts is valid, he would be a great addition to the Gunners squad.

Importing players from abroad gave fans a new dimension of the game, but the presence of the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp is no longer as exciting as it was in time past. Signing new  players from British would definitely sit well with the fans, particularly if it involves releasing Kieran Gibbs in the process.

At just 19, Tierney have a lot to offer as he still has most of his career ahead of him. If he comes to Emirates, will he be a back-up for first choice left-back? Considering that Wenger recently signed 20-year-old Cohen Bramall from non-league side Hednesford Town, Bramall might be the one handed the substitute position.

Kieran Tierney should definitely not hesitate to agree to a deal that would bring him down to the Emirates as he would be afforded the chance to improve and grow.
