Jose Mourinho spent hugely on his team in the winter but he has not gotten a return for the money spent and is anticipating the next transfer window to make new additions to the club. The Red Devil team is one of the best in all of Europe but Mourinho have not been able to get them to live up to standard and is confused on which on which formation to employ that would be favorable. He would be willing to spend enormously to procure players worthy of the first team and this would leave players on the fringes at loose end next season. This might result in Mourinho discarding some players this season and here are five players who could be discarded.

Matteo Darmian:

The Italian full-back’s talent has no equal in Italy but he has been unable to have an impact in Old Trafford. He was handed the opportunity to play the left-back position following injuries to key players. The 27-year-old have been unable to make the position his. Mourinho will expectedly be signing new full-backs this season leaving Darmian with little on his hands.

Wayne Rooney:

Despite being the top goal scorer for United in the premier League history, Rooney will probably not be appearing in the first team next season. The England International has not been effective in the games probably due to the number 10 position he’s playing and with Mourinho looking to reinforce his defense, Rooney might see less of the pitch.

Michael Carrick:

Carrick’s contract with United is set to expire in a couple of month and it does not look like there would be a renewal. The Englishman  has been an admirable performer in the central park this season but he has been sidelined in last few games. The tactician is looking for a player who can complement Paul Pogba’s skills in the midfield and Carrick, at 35, has little or no hope of making the first team next season.

Sergio Romero:

Romero, substitute for David de Gea in United Squad, has never disappointed the Red Devils anytime he fills in  for the first choice goalkeeper. However, he is rarely used in the Premier League. Mourinho will be signing a new keeper as a substitute or replacement for De Gea but Romero has no hope of being handed the number shirt. At 30, the Argentine needs more playing time and he might decide to leave the club this summer.

Adnan Januzaj:

The Belgian attacker was a formidable player at the Old Trafford before he was deemed surplus and loaned out to Sunderland. He’s had little success at the Stadium of Light as he’s found It difficult to break into the first team, Januzaj has all it takes to make it to the top in the game but he’s hardly afforded the opportunity and Mourinho have no wish to bring him back to the club. The 22-year-old, definitely has no future at Old Trafford.
