Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing Real Madrid Midfielder Casemiro to Old Trafford in the summer. The 24-year-old has been a big part of the Madridistas’ success this season but could find his attention drawn towards England as has been linked with a move to Chelsea as well.

The Brazilian joined Madrid in January 2013, where he worked briefly alongside Mourinho, before the Portuguese left for Stamford Bridge and now he wishes to have the midfielder under his wing once again.

Casemiro has been a force to reckon with in the central park of the Madridistas. He has 24 appearances across all competition and has chalked up two goals and two assists for Zinedine Zidane’s side, but that is not what he is needed for in the team. His main objective is to counter the defense of the opposition which he has so far excelled at.

He had an injury spell from September till November which made him sit out some games which in turn led to Madrid’s poor result during the period.

The 24-year-old has the ability to make decision in the nick of time and he hardly relinquish his hold of the ball. He possesses a good range of passing and can find his teammates with great precision as indicated by the 86% pass success-rate this season.

Casemiro has shown he is not afraid of a challenge when faced with one ands his stunning goal in the Champions League victory over Napoli recently has gone a long way to prove that.

Manchester United have had a fine run in recent months, but Morgan Schneiderlin’s exit from the club and reduced involvement of Bastian Schweinsteiger has reduced their midfield capabilities.

Signing Casemiro would restore balance to the United team, Having him in the center of the pitch would provide Pogba and Herrera with the needed shield and enhance their performance as well.

His contract with Madrid, which runs till 2021 could be an hindrance to his move to Old Trafford but that should not discourage Mourinho as he would be a great addition to his team.
