Bayern Munich can count on playmaker Xabi Alonsi for their Champions League tier round of 16 first-leg clash with Premier League giants Arsenal on Wednesday (Live RTÉ 2, 7.45pm) after the Spanish maestro recovered from a knock that forced him out of training.

Per Daily Mail via Squawka News, the midfielder had limped out of training on Monday what seems to be knee injury but was back on the pitch today as the Bavarians continued their preparations for their clash against the North London club.

However, the Bundesliga giants now look set to be without central defender Jerome Boateng and winger Franck Ribery, both of whom have been training alone after having recovered from injury.

Their Champions League clash with the Gunners will be the fourth encounter between the duo club at this stage of the competition since 2005, with the German side having been the winners on the past three occasions.

Nacho Monreal now look set to return to action for Arsenal after being rested for his side 2-0 victory against Hull City on Saturday.

Mohamed Elneny could also come back into the side.
