Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed reports that star player Philippe Coutinho may join Spanish clubs Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The Brazilian playmaker has been sidelined since November 26, 2016 after picking up a knee injury against Sunderland but he is expected to make his return in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg against Southampton on Wednesday at St. Mary Stadium.

The Reds who are second in the league table have been able to cope with the absence of the midfielder and despite been injured Barca and Real Madrid are continuously linked with him. But Klopp has insisted that the 24-year-old £60 million-rated player will not leave Anfield any time soon.

In another news Reds defender Mamadou Sakho could be heading to Southampton after dropping out of the first team at Anfield and has not featured for them since the summer. Though Klopp has not been forthcoming about the Frenchman future at the club, Saints manager Claude Puel is keen on signing the 26-year-old as a replacement for Jose Fonte who handed in transfer request.

Other Premier League clubs like West Brom and Stoke City are also interested in the centre-back as well as Italian giants Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Following the departure of Senegalese forward Saido Mane to the Africa Cup of Nation, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Quincy Promes. And according to reports the Reds are prepared to make a bid of £25 million for the Dutch winger.

The Merseysiders have been monitoring him for some time but are already to swoop for him as other clubs are also showing interest in him. The 25-year-old has been Spartak Moscow top scorer in two of the past three seasons and has scored 37 goals in 78 games for them.
