Pogba and Ibrahimovic the heroes as Man United claimed their second consecutive win, defeating Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park.
Man United have failed to translate their dominion of matches to result in the last few weeks and they have had to settle for draws in those matches. However that changed following their 1-0 win over Tottenham over the weekend.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan who scored the only goal of the game was stretchered off the field after a tackle from Spurs’ Danny Rose. The Armenia international was unavailable for the Crystal Palace match but Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensured his absence should not be enough a reason not to win last night.
Jose Mourinho made four changes to the team that defeated Tottenham with Eric Bailly making his first league start since October while Danny Blind, Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney all returned to the starting line-up
Pogba scored from Ibrahimovic pass to put United ahead in the dying minutes of the first half, though the French midfielder was in an offside position. The thoughts running in United fans’ minds could easily be discerned when James McArthur equalized for the Eagles in the 66th minute.
Another draw? But that was not to happen as Pogba and Ibrahimovic combined again to give United the winner. The Swede forward struck two minutes from time from Pogba’s pass, much to the relive of the fans and Mourinho celebrated the win with his players at the final whistle.
