Arsenal are said to be interested in eyeing up a move for former Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco over the last few weeks, but the Premier League giants could be set for a huge blog in their bid to sign the Belgium international, as according to the winger’s wife Noemie Happart, Manchester United are also considering a potential move for the winger.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made it pretty clear last week that he has little money to spend in January, so the Gunners’ move for the winger from Chinese club Dalian Yifang would most likely have to be a loan move, which could see them fall behind Man United in the race for the winger’s signature.
Speaking on Belgian TV channel rtbf.be, Carrasco wife openly talked about his husband chances of moving back to Europe by saying:
“There are lots of clubs looking at him. Lots of clubs have been in touch with him. Lots of clubs are interested.
“Yannick has received offers from Germany, Spain, England and Italy but nothing has been truly concrete up to now, nothing has been signed.”
And when asked about interested from Manchester United, she added:
“Yes, they’re very interested.
“I won’t hide it from you but nothing has been signed.”
Yannick Carrasco moved to China 11 months ago, but is eyeing a move back to Europe, and having impressed for Atletico Madrid and Monaco, he could be a valuable asset for which side that wins the race for his signature.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side have now entered the race for Arsenal target, as the Old Trafford club, are having no financial restriction and have by no means been shy in terms of player recruitment in the past, could made this an hot battle between the two Premier League sides over the coming weeks.
The winger was part of the Belgian World Cup team that finished third and Carrasco has already earned 34 caps with his country, and will surely jump at the chances of a move back to Europe to contest in some of the world’s greatest leagues.
