Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard is currently the most valuable player for Chelsea. He has been serving the team with his speed, creativity and dribbling skills for years now. Many coaches and players have even compared him to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. And currently, he is in the form of his life. In his 10 appearances so far, he has scored eight goals and made three assists this season. He is the one big reason Chelsea are doing so well this year. Looks like the Maurizio Sarri’s system of football suits with him very much.

However, the Belgium international could leave Chelsea for Real Madrid who have been showing a great interest in him. Moving to the Santiago Bernabeu could be the biggest career move for Hazard who perhaps would not get such a good opportunity again. Therefore, the Real Madrid temptation could prove too much for the Belgian, and Chelsea could lose its most valuable player. For now, he has confirmed that he is not leaving Chelsea.

During his six years at the club, Hazard has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and the Europa League for his team. However, the performance of his club has been less than impressive in Europe’s elite competition. They have never gone past the round of 16 in the Champions League during his six years except once when they were knocked out by Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.

And this season, they will not even be competing for they finished 5th in the league last season with the difference of 30 points with Manchester City. While if we look at Madrid, they have been winning the Champions League for three years in a row now. They won their latest CL title last season when they thrashed Liverpool 3-1 in the final.

The Belgian could greatly increase his chances for the Ballon d’Or if he were to join Real Madrid. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona players have been winning the prestigious award for the last 11 years. With a player of his calibre, he can make a strong case for the Ballon d’Or by joining Real Madrid who have significant resources at their disposal.

The timing for Hazard could not be any more perfect. He is in his best form this season. He is scoring goals in almost every game with even a hat-trick to his name too. And most importantly, Real are in a dire need of a player like him. Los Blancos are currently struggling with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. Under Julen Lopetegui, they have not been able to score in 4 matches now. It looks like they are viewing Hazard as a replacement for Ronaldo, someone who can score goals consistently for the team.

Nothing can be said with any conviction, however, the possibility of Hazard leaving Chelsea could not be ruled out. After all, every football player dreams to play for a club like Real Madrid.
