There have been reported fumes between Arsenal manager Unai Emery and midfielder Mesut Özil at Arsenal, and if reports bear fruits, Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe are looking to take advantage of this situation by making move for the Germany international.

Ozil missed Arsenal’s 3-1 won against Cardiff City before the international break, with a reported time-old excuse of undefined “illness”, stressing more speculations that Ozil’s days at Arsenal looks numbered.

Özil, however, signed a new £350,000 with Arsenal back in February last season, when the club was still under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger. This contract ties the midfielder with the club until the end of 2020/21 season.

With Emery now in-charge of the club, there have been reported tensions rising between the two, and Fenerbahce seems likely, according to Turkish newspaper Aspor, his next club is likely to be Fenerbahçe.

Ozil’s news to Fenerbahçe is not a new speculation as 18 months ago, the German emerged as target for the Turkish side. It was even reported by the Telegraph that Ozil who has Turkish heritage – to seek when contract talks with the North London club were up in the air.

Özil joined the Gunners in 2013 from Real Madrid, and his experience with Arsenal fans have a mixed feelings who have often levelled criticism at his sporadic successful and perceived lack of enthusiasm.

He has almost 200 appearances for Arsenal, netting 37 goals and with 71 assists. Mesut Ozil is a three-time FA Cup champion with Arsenal, and was an integral part of the Gunners team that won the Community Shield at the beginning of the 2015/16 season.

Fenerbahçe, on the other hand, finished the 2017/18 season second in the Turkish domestic league behind fierce cross-city rivals Galatasary.
