La Liga giants Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a fee to sign Bayern Munich and Spain international midfielder Thiago Alcantara this summer.
Football Weeks believes Real’s Luka Modric has made it clear to the club and Florentino Perez that he wants to leave the club to join Seria A giants Inter Milan and the Los Blancos are already working on who to replace the Croatian midfielder.
As reported by Spanish news tabloid, Onda Cero via Calcio Mercato, the tabloid state that Real Madrid have agreed a fee with Bayern for the signing of Thiago, who has been linked to the club as Modric replacement.
As per the report, a fee around 50 million euros is said to have been agreed by the two parties and if the report is anything to go by, the Allianz Arena would not stand in Thiago’s way to join Madrid as long as he’s going for right price.
Also, the reported €50 million is also said to be closer to how much Inter Milan would be paying for the signing of Modric this summer.
Thiago is a highly creative and technically gifted playmaker, with excellent dribbling skills and ball control, which allows him to operate effectively in a deep-seated playmaking role as a central midfielder just like Modric.
The Spaniard is also capable of playing in a more advanced role as an attacking midfielder. He has been noted for his accurate distribution of the ball, as he possesses great passing technique and vision, and maintained a 90.2% pass success rate throughout the 2016–17 Bundesliga season, higher than any other player in Germany.
Comparisons between Modric and Thiago is very few with latter still earning more Whoscored rating than Modric despite registering just 12(7) appearances last season in Bundesliga while Modric registered 23(3) appearances.
With arrays of Spain internationals present in Bernabeu, Thiago would find playing life not hard to come with having previously work under Real’s new boss Jules Lopetequi.
Should his move to Real Madrid fails, the likes of Sergey Milinkovic-Savic and Miralem Pjanic have been linked move to the club while Tottenham superstar Christian Eriksen is also a target for the club.
