According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United could agree a £60m deal with Chelsea for Willian. Jose Mourinho has long admired the 29-year-old and could finally be reunited with him this summer. United appear to be strengthening their attack for next season, while Willian has previously hinted he could leave the Blues after they endured an underwhelming campaign.
United made a failed approach for Willian in January, but Chelsea had no desire to sell the Brazilian international. Their stance could change, however, as Willian is reported to want out of Stamford Bridge. He’s made 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013, winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup.
United aren’t short for options in attack with Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford in the squad, but Willian would improve the squad. The Brazilian operates on the right-wing and can score and create chances with ease. Last season, Willian 13 goals in just 20 Premier League starts. Mourinho would surely love to bring his goals to Old Trafford.
His asking price could be a stumbling block, however, as £60m for a player who will turn 30 in August might be considered a steep fee to pay.
