According to Australian news outlet, The World Game, Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic turned a new deal. That report was swiftly denied by manager Brendan Rodgers, however.
Celtic face a problem in tying the Australian down to an extension, meaning he could leave for nothing at the end of the season.
He’s a player the Bhoys can’t do without, bringing an extra quality to the side that other players can’t replicate. He would be missed far more than may realise if Celtic can’t get him to agree to a new deal.
Rogic, who has scored 24 goals in 116 appearances in all competitions, is a key player for Celtic and is helping them making history by winning a second successive domestic treble.
For that, he deserves to be rewarded with a new and improved contract. Celtic supporters were once again reminded of his importance after he netted a brilliant goal in a 3-0 win over Ross County.
Rogic’s goal, which was his sixth of the season, perfectly showcased his attacking threat and skill, as his superb touch took him away from his marker, and after creating space for himself, he fire into the back of the net.
