Celtic star Scott Sinclair came under attack at Glasgow Airport following the Old Firm game.

Sinclair was waiting to board his flight in the BA Lounge when he was verbally attacked, according to report from the Daily Record by three individuals.

Police were called and the trio were not allowed to board their flight and were escorted from the airport. Sinclair, who was on bench during the Bhoys’ 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox, did board the flight.

A spokesman for the airport confirmed an incident did take place. He said as quoted by The Scotsman:

“I can confirm there was an incident in the BA lounge.”

“Three individuals were removed from the flight and the airport by the police.”

Six people had earlier been arrested following Sunday’s Old Firm match, according to Police in Scotland.

This was believed to be a result of the Old Firm derby ending 3-2 in Celtic’s favour. The Police had said there would be a “notable increase” in officers in the area in and around Glasgow.

The arrests were made in and around Ibrox Stadium. A spokesman for Police Scotland said:

“There were six arrests around the stadium for minor public order offences.”
