Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side have been linked with a deadline move for Scott Bain, currently on loan at Hibernian from Dundee.

Celtic are interested in signing the Dundee-owned Hibernian goalkeeper before the transfer deadline as a temporary replacement to injured Craig Gordon, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been widely reported that the Scottish champions have approached The Dees with a view to paying a nominal fee for the former Aberdeen prospect.

Bain – who’s rated at £360k according to Transfermkt – has just joined Neil Lennon’s side on loan from Scottish Premiership side Dundee only in the January transfer window.

With Bain’s contract running out at the end of the season, Celtic have reportedly made a move for the Scotsman.

According to the Scottish Sun, the tabloid also claimed that Hibernian are willing to end their loan agreement with the goalkeeper so that he can join Celtic, and that the Scottish champions feel that there will not be a problem in agreement on a transfer fee with Dundee.

Celtic are reported to be in the market for an option between the sticks as a replacement for the injured Craig Gordon, who will be out of action for at least three months.

Celtic will be back in action against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
