As it’s obvious all loan deal will end in the coming weeks, players loaned to the club will leaving for their respective sides, Niko Kranjcar and Rob Kierman might be ship out to make room for new bloods.
Rangers have been different since Pedro Caixinha took over, with the gap between them and Celtic looking as wide as ever on the pitch and yet their results improving so much against other sides.
Their best performance was their 3-0 away win at Aberdeen and if they can back that up with a convincing win when they welcome Hearts this weekend at Ibrox then the future will look rosy. There is little doubt though about the Gers’ transfer policy this time last season being shambolic. Ageing players were brought in rather than the club focusing on youth as they had done in previous seasons and it’s an experiment which simply did not work.
Several loan deals with end in the coming weeks so it’s too obvious to name Philippe Senderos, Jon Toral, Clint Hill and Emerson Hyndman as players who will leave the club. As well as these players, the Portuguese manager might part ways with the following two squad members to make room for new signings.
Niko Kranjcar
The former Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur winger’s signing made some attentions last summer, but taking a closer look at his overall performances for Rangers should have been no surprise to see him make very little or no impact in Scotland. Niko Kranjcar’s glory days in the English Premier League were all too short and he, in fact, has shown very little for a number of years now.
Barrie McKay may be given the chance to improve by Caixinha next season and so will Joe There are assurance Caixinha given chance to Barrie McKay to prove his worth next season and so will Joe Dodoo, so it seems that even without new names coming to the club, the Croatian man may deem surplus to requirement.
Rob Kiernan
Clint Hill could leave the Gers very soon, Senderos has not in any way productive and Rangers are in desperate need of cover at centre-back. The Portuguese boss has made it no secret of his desire to ship in two new signings this summer, so adding these to the current duo of Danny Wilson – who may still improve at age 25 – and youngster David Bates would be enough.
This would potentially leave Kiernan with no place in the squad and to be frankly honest, enough time and games have gone by now for us to judge him and without any doubt, it looks like he is not good enough to play a full part in getting the Gers to where they need to be. They will be aiming at least for 2nd place next season, a domestic cup and a potential run in the Europa League. So, players of Kiernan’s ability simply will not do.
