Douglas Costa and Wilfred Zaha are two pacey wingers who Mauricio Pochettino should consider bringing to the White Hart Lane in the summer.
Tottenham Hotspur superb run in the league this season have assured them they would finish above arch North London rivals Arsenal this season as they defeated the Gunners 2-0 at the White Hart Lane on Sunday. Maurico Pochettino’s side currently site 2nd in the Premier League standings, 4 points behind league leaders Chelsea and with still 4 games left to play, Tottenham are within a shot of the Premier League title if the Blues slip up.
Whether they win the league or not at the end of the season, they are making huge changes in the right direction and have now grown to be the best teams in England.
Tottenham will, however, want to improve their performances in Europe, after having crashed out of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League earlier than expected. To that end, bringing in quality additions in the summer transfer window will be extremely key in shaping their side next season.
While Pochettino do have a greatly balanced squad, there are a few chinks in the armour that need to attended to for the upcoming season. One of those areas is the lack of pacey player in their ranks. Tottenham has targeted wingers in the past transfer windows but has had little success with the players that he has brought in, namely Clinton N’Jie, Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.
Therefore, it isn’t really a surprise that Tottenham are keen on bringing in a quality winger over the summer to boost their chances of competing for the title next season. Here is why we believe Douglas Costa and Wilfred Zaha would be perfect additions to White Hart Lane squad if they are signed in the summer.
Douglas Costa

The Bayern Munich’s winger has grown tired with the lack of playing time that have come his way this season at Allianz Arena and is looking for a summer exit. And The Sun reported last month that the Spurs were interested in his services. The Brazilian international has been overlooked by the Bavarian manager Carlo Ancelotti in favour of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben this season, despite age not on the duo sides. As a result, D. Costa has just registered 32 appearances this season, most of them coming from the bench, and has started in only 13 Bundesliga games. The 26-year-old has shown his capabilities despite his short game time and has bagged 7 goals and created 9 assists.
A world-class attacker with plenty of experience at the top level and a proven performer in the Champions League, he has the pace and ability to stretch defences and has proved he can score and create assist in plenty. He could prove to be that missing piece of the puzzle that is separating Spurs from title glory.
Wilfried Zaha

Zaha has been one of the very few positives in what has been a disappointing season for the Eagles. The Ivorian has scored 6 times and has set 11 goals up for his teammates in 32 league games this term. His raw pace, coupled with his dribbling abilities and direct running make him an ideal option for Tottenham to have.
He has been a subject of a failed attempt from Tottenham last summer, but they continue to maintain an interest in him and could join the North Londoners in the summer.
The 24-year-old has been one of the very few positives in what has been a disappointing season for the Eagles. The Ivory Coast has bagged 6 goals and created 11 assists for his teammate in 32 league games this season. His raw pace, coupled with his dribbling abilities and direct running make him an ideal option for Tottenham to have.
However, the lack of Champions League experience and his disastrous spell at Manchester United could prove to be a matter of concern. But going by his performances this season, Zaha looks ready to shine on the big stage and Tottenham should seriously consider a bid for him.
