Liverpool have been banjaxed with a fresh injury blow, this time on Jordan Henderson being a doubt when they receive Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday. In the club post-match conference, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp admit that it’s not certain if Henderson would be fit in time when they the Gunners.

The England No. 17 midfielder suffered a foot injury during his side build-up to the game against Leicester City. He missed his Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat against the Foxes at the King Power Stadium on Monday.

The German boss said in his post-match press conference,

“It looks like he will not be ready for Arsenal. That’s how it looks but I’m not sure, we will see.”

The Reds suffered a cruel loss against the Foxes, with England’s No. 9 Jamie Vardy scoring a brace Danny Drinkwater scoring an awesomely long distance amazing goal. The match result came as a shock, given their preparing for two weeks since their last league game on February 11 against Tottenham Hotspurs, which ended Liverpool winning 2-0.

Liverpool have since then travelled to Spain for ‘warm weather’ training and it seems as though Jurgen Klopp’s side was looking overjoyed and fresh prior to trip to the King Power Stadium but dramatically, they managed to disappoint the fans. The outcome of the match now lay further pressure on the team to take on Arsenal, as their hopes of top-4 finish look increasingly doubtful.

Klopp will be on high hopes of expecting Henderson recovers in time when they face the Emirates club. The Anfield giants captain has the highest recorded number of passes in the league and tops the chart with 2057 passes. The brilliant performance has even be difficult to be met by world-record signing Paul Pogba who’s finding it hard to achieve such distribution and thus highlighting Henderson’s importance to Liverpool’s performance on the pitch.

The next update from the former Borussia Dortmund boss about the Captain’s injury will be crucial.
