In the football world today, the love for high pay has overridden the passion and loyalty footballers once had for their club. Though many players with huge players transfer fees would deny that money was not the motive such transfers.

Arsenal duo of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have dragged on their contract issue since the summer and it has not been resolved yet as the two continued to demand for fees their club are finding it difficult to succumb to.

Chinese Super League doesn’t seem to be helping matters on that either with “out-of-the world” offers for players to lure them to China. Following the£60 million sale of Oscar to Shanghai SIPG and Tianjin Quanjian have also come for the Blues main striker Diego Costa with a contract of £30 million per year.

It was believed that the offer could have led to the training ground buts-up he had with Antonio Conte which led to him being dropped for the Leicester City match.

And as reported by The Sun, the Spanish international will only cooperate on the condition that the club reopen negotiations over a new contract.

The former Atletico Madrid star is currently earning £150,000 per week but has requested his pay be doubled to a staggering £300,000. But the Premier League leaders are willing to offer him £225,000 a week which didn’t go down well with the forward.

He has netted 14 goals this season, it is understood that the striker feels he is underpaid considering his contribution to the club far. Despite the strong interest from China, Chelsea are confident the forward will not leave until summer.
