David Moyes returns to Old Trafford for the first time since he was sacked in 2014 as Man United clash with Sunderland on Boxing Day.
Noted was appointed in the summer of 2013 after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson but was sacked after some unimpressive performances and results with just Six games to the end of 2013/3014 season, and Ryan Giggs saw them through to the end of that season.
Man United will be aiming to make it four consecutive wins for the first time this season. After a run of some poor results which pushed them out of the title race and their top four finish hanging by a thread, they are finally finding their feet in the Premier League. They won their last three matches and kept clean sheets in two of those and Jose Mourinho can only hope it continues to get better.
The Black Cats who are currently in the bottom three defeated United 2-1 the last time they met in the league and Moyes will be hoping to end their winning run.
United are beginning to find their rhythm and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to doing what he knows best – scoring goals – a win looks possible for the Reds. The Swedish forward scored a brace in their last match against West Brom and 10 goals in his last nine games.
Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are expected to return to the fold following injury while Like Shaw remains doubtful.
Man United Probable Starting XI:
