Arsene Wenger has been finding it rather difficult to ensure that his star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez commit their future to the club. The two have only 18 months left on their current contract and all efforts to make them put pen to papers have failed so far. Reportedly they have been £180,000 per week but they are standing firm on a wagw in excess of £200,000 per week.

While some believe the players are holding Arsenal to a ransom, some are of the view that the players  deserve their asking price.

However, it seems Wenger have had enough of them and he is probably not ready to dance to their tune. He is reportedly already looking forward to getting a replacement for the pair.

According to the latest reports, the Gunners boss has identified Borussia Dortmund attack Marco Reus as a possible replacement for either of the two.

The Telegraph claimed that though it is Wenger’s priority to get Ozil and Sanchez tied to the club beyond their current contract, Reus is being targeted as an option should they failed to extend their contract.

Understandably both are important to the club but they are dragging too much on the contract issue. Sanchesz has already scored 14 goals this season and may be difficult to replace.

Reus is a player that can play as a central striker like Sanchez, or in any attacking role. He has scored more than 20 goals in two of his three previous season and could be a huge signing for Arsenal.

Although Wenger has claimed both players will remain at the club till 2018, he would prefer to cash in on them than to lose them for free.
