It is getting better for Man United as they continued their resurgence, grabbing their third consecutive win in the Premier League on Saturday by defeating West Brom 2-0 at the Hawthorns.
The Reds have not had it rosy this season. After their impressive start to the season when they won their first three opening matches, their season gone from good to bad losing matches and drawing those they should have won. A run of four consecutive home draws was ended by victory over Tottenham last weekend and they followed it up with a win away to Crystal Palace in the mid-week.
The Baggies were looking forward to a consecutive fourth home win when Man United came visiting on Saturday but that was not to be thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic brace. The Swedish striker has been an important figure at United, though he was expected not to find it easy in the Premier League considering his age but he is showing no sign of slowing down. The 35-year-old said before the game that he feels like a 20-year-old.
He put United ahead in the 5th minute from Jesse Lingard’s pass and doubled it four minutes before the hour mark from Wayne Rooney’s cross. The win put United on the 30 same points with Tottenham who are in the fifth place but that could change if the London club win or draw their match against Burnley on Sunday.
United have now kept two clean sheets in their last three league matches as they aim to secure a place in the top four. They are now unbeaten in 10 matches in all competitions.
Ibrahimovic has scored ten goals in nine matches and 16 goals this season for United taking him to 152 goals in 170 league games.
Jose Mourinho will be hoping the going gets better and secure a place for the Champions League next season.
