Chelsea have put forth enviable performances in the Premier League so far this season. The team has been evidently transformed by Antonio Conte and are sitting atop the Premier League standings with 37 points.

They have won their last nine league matches and looks unstoppable at the moment. Even though Conte has played down the title talk, they look good to claim it.

However, they may suffer a frustrating setback in their title challenge. The Blues face the possibility of having points deducted from them in the League following the brawl that ensued in the dying moments of last weekend’s clash against title rivals Man City.

The two clubs were charged by the FA for failing to control their players after the teams confronted each other following Sergio Agero’s dangerous tackle on David Liuz.

Both Aguero and Fernandinho were sent off while the Argentine striker was later handed four-match ban. Even though City was the culprit, Chelsea will now have to face the consequences.

This is the fifth time in 19th months that Chelsea have been charged by the FA over the conduct of their player and as reported by the Mirror, the club now face the prospects of point deduction.

The club was warned about the future conduct of their players when they appealed against a £290,000 fine imposed on them for their players behaviour in the Premier League clash with Tottenham last season.

If the FA go ahead with that decision, Chelsea lose ground in the title race and would become the first club in 26 years after Arsenal and Man United to lose points for their players bad conduct.
