The wind of injury is currently blowing at Anfield and it has put their title bid at stake. It is always a major curse managers pray to avoid as the title race heats up. Even those not competing for the Premier League title always want to have all their players fit, especially their star players.

Liverpool title race may suffer a hit as two of their attacking quartet look set to spend some times on the sidelines. Adam Lallana has not featured for Liverpool in their last two games since he picked up an injury while on international duty with England. Likewise, Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho was reported to have been injured while playing for Brazil but still managed to play for the Reds in the 0-0 draw against Southampton.

The injury appeared to have been aggravated in the match against Sunderland and may be out for some weeks though the extent of the injury has not been diagnosed.

Jurgen Klopp has built his team around the aforementioned two, Saido Mane and Roberto Firmino and contributed immensely to the 30 goals they have scored so far this season. The Reds were at the summit of the league table going into the international break but the draw at the St. Mary Stadium allowed Chelsea leapfrogged them.

Daniel Sturridge who could have replaced Coutinho is also out with a calf injury, leaving with Divock Original only. The Reds felt the absence of Lallana as they failed to find a way through the Saints defence, even though Klopp has denied such claims.

They have the major aim of winning the title this season and that could be hampered with injuries to his star players. Other players need to up their games to fill the void already created.

Losing star players and dropping points at this crucial stage of the title race will have adverse effect on them.
