A quarter of the 2016/2017 season gone and the Premier League has witnessed hot attack already, all the top four clubs have scored four or more goals and 306 goals in total has been registered so far by the 20 clubs. The race to the Premier League title is heating up.

It is tight at the top presently. Liverpool sits on top with 26 points, just a point above Chelsea in the second place while Manchester City and Arsenal are on 24 points in third and fourth positions respectively.

It is noteworthy and not a coincidence that these four teams are leading the attack in the league so far. Arsenal have the fewest goals (24) of the four while Liverpool are leading the pack with 30 though they have also conceded more.

More games will still be played but so far the quartet has proved to be creative. In terms of goal scored Chelsea duo of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard have nine and seven goals respectively.

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has eight goals while Arsenal duo of Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott have six and five goals respectively. Liverpool’s attacking front of Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho have five each while Saido Mane has six.

In assists City’s Kevin De Bruyne leads with six and Chelsea and Liverpool are the only clubs that have players with five assists. Arsenal have two and Manchester City have one player with three assists.

Sergio Aguero leads as the most creative player for Man City followed by David Silva, Be Bruyne and Raheem Sterling and they have scored14 of City’s 25 goals so far. They have created 70 chances and nine assists between them

At Arsenal, Mesut Ozil has 21 chances already but only one assist so far after leading the Premier League with 19 assists last season. However, he has three goals to cover up his deficiency in that aspect. To complete their quartet list are Sanchez, Walcott and Santi Cazorla. In between them they have created 61 chances, 16 goals and 8 assists.

Chelsea have the least creative quartet; Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, Willian and the fourth which has not been consistent is Oscar. The group have created 68 chances, scored15 goals and just five assists.

The king of the creative foursome is Liverpool. Both Coutinho and Firmino have created 50 chances while the combination of Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana summed it up to 73, more than any of the top four. They have combined for 15 goals – one less than Arsenal but they have the most 10 assists.

Nevertheless, each of the other three is capable of causing an upset and surpasses their rivals.
