David Moyes has been a true revelation for West Ham. The team is currently 5th in the Premier League and have already qualified for the further stages in the Europa League. West Ham United was a historically struggling club, but they’re now on an upward trajectory with Moyes at the helm. Moyes has turned West Ham from relegation contenders to one of the Premier League’s elite clubs, all thanks to his brilliance as manager. It’s no wonder why so many teams want him as their next coach.

When Moyes took over in November 2017 for his first spell, the club was in a dire situation. They were 18th on the table and looked destined to be relegated. But with Moyes’s coaching, West Ham has risen up the table, and with two games remaining, they successfully survived the Premier League. After his six-month deal was over, he left the club as he was not offered a new contract. The Hammer’s fans have given Moyes the nickname ‘Moyesiah’.

Moyes was called by the Hammers again in December 2019 with an 18 months contract when Pellegrini left the club with them being in 17th spot, one point above regelation. Moyes then helped the Hammers finish 16th and survived the season again. In his first entire season 2020-21, West Ham finished in the 6th position with 65 points; this also made them qualify for the 2021-22 Europa League. West Ham won 19 games, from which nine were won away, both being records for the club. Because of his fantastic performance, West Ham rewarded him with a new three-year contract he signed on June 21.

Moyes first task as manager was to identify which players could fit into his system and which couldn’t. He cut out those who couldn’t or wouldn’t fit into his system, leaving behind those who would make the team success this season. He gave chances to young players and showed trust in them, which helped them grow. Players like Soucek, Antonio, Cresswell showed outstanding performances last season. Soucek and Antonio ended as the top scorers with ten goals each; Antonio achieved this feat in 26 games. Cresswell provided eight assists, the most in the team. Jesse Lingard was bought from Man United on loan in January, and he contributed with nine goals and four assists.

In addition to changing the team from relegation contenders to one of the top teams in England, David Moyes has also revolutionised their style of play. When he first arrived at West Ham, they focused on power and physicality–not skills or creativity–but his coaching philosophy has completely changed that. He emphasises attacking football instead of.

Where do you think West Ham United will finish this season. As they have progressed in the Europa League, how far they can go?.
