Reports coming from Germany are claiming Premier League giants Chelsea have made a €45million bid approach for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic.
Despite the Blues recent signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus in January, it’s believed the West London club are still out there for more attacking options with former Arsenal star Olivier Giroud’s contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Giroud joined Chelsea in January 2018, but he only signed an 18-months deal and keeping in line with the club’s policy, the French World Cup winner is only likely to be offered a one-year extension, if at all he will be offered a new deal.
And in Germany, Bild have reported that the Blues have submitted an offer with the Bundesliga giants for the signing of the 21-year-old forward.
Jovic, who is currently on loan with the German side from Benfica, has been in dazzling form this season having netted 14 goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances and scouts from all over Europe have been tracking his progress with Frankfurt.
There are also report from Spanish publication Marca that claimed Barcelona hold a strong interest in signing the Bosnian-born forward after earmarking him as a potential long-term replacement to ageing Luiz Suarez.
The German source also mentioned Liverpool as one of the major suitor to sign the Serbia striker this summer, having sounded out his agent over a potential move to Anfield.
It will all remain to be seen how the reports will unfold for the signing of the striker when the window reopens in the summer.
