Dedryck Boyata - Football Hitz

Premier League giants Fulham F.C are expected to resume interest in Celtic star Dedryck Boyata.

The London base club had an initial bid of around £8m rejected in the summer ahead of the Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers with AEK Athens but are believed to be preparing a new offer despite a change of manager with Claudio Ranieri now in charge.

The Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers reportedly refused to rule out the Belgian exit from Parkhead in the summer due to lack alternatives but is expected to be in the January market for new central defenders.

The report from the Daily Mail reads:

“Out of contract in the summer, Boyata has declined to sign a new deal and is a January target for Fulham.”

At one stage it looked like the £14,000k-per-week midfielder wouldn’t play again for Celtic but Brendan Rodgers insisted on playing him who silence his critics with the best form of his career.

Boyata’s partnership with Filip Benkovic helped the Scotland champions to three wins in the Europa League but was ruled out by injury during the Betfred Cup Final win over Aberdeen at Hampden.

With Benkovic now due to return to Leicester City by end of the season, or earlier, Rodgers is effectively looking for a new central defensive partnership for the upcoming season.
