Jose Mourinho will be under a lot of pressure as his team faces Sean Dyche’s Burnley side at Turf Moor this Sunday. His side won the previous encounter last season at the same venue after Anthony Martial scored for the Red Devils. However, the pressure certainly seems to be on United now as they have lost their previous two matches.
Mourinho’s team began the season well by winning easily against Leicester City 2-1. However, the next two matches proved to be an absolute disaster for United. The team conceded 3 goals in the first half against Brighton. Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku tried to save the game, however, those earlier goals proved decisive for the match. While the Tottenham match at Old Trafford was a source of complete humiliation for the home side.
For the Spurs match, Mourinho had come up with the new 3-3-3-1 formation which was a huge surprise for everyone. Even the Spurs team looked surprised as they struggled to contain their opponent’s pressing in the first half. However, once Harry Kane provided an early goal in the second half, the whole tone of the match changed. Lucas Moura who was in top form struck another goal in the next two minutes. It was a complete humiliation for the home side as Moura added one more in the 84th minute thereby winning the game 3-0.
Later at the press conference, Mourinho’s frustration was quite visible. He lost his cool and went out of the press conference demanding “respect, respect, respect”. According to him, he had won 3 Premier League titles which meant more titles than the other 19 managers’ titles combined. That’s why he deserved respect.

For Mourinho, the coming match against Burnley will not be easy. Though his team won the previous encounter at Turf Moor, Burnley could pose difficulties for United now. So far, United have won 60 total matches against Burnley while the Clarets have won 44 previous encounters. The two sides drew 22 encounters as well.
Sanchez, Lingard, Matic, and Valencia returned to the team in the match against Spurs. However, Mourinho could make changes for the next match after the disaster at Old Trafford. There is also the possibility of Bailly or Lindelof playing for the next match as Phil Jones has gotten himself injured now.
While the Burnley side just got themselves eliminated from the Europa League after losing against Olympiacos on aggregate. In the Premier League, they have lost the two games against Fulham and Watford while drawing a match against Southampton. The Clarets are still without Nick Pope, Steven Defour, and Johann Berg. It will be an exciting contest to see whether United overcomes their pressure or Burnley takes advantage of the situation.
