According to The S*n, Liverpool could agree a deal with Aston Villa for Jack Grealish. The Reds are keen to bring the 22-year-old to Anfield this summer, although Tottenham Hotspur remain interest in his services also.

Grealish could be on his way out of Villa Park after the Midlands outfit failed to earn promotion back to the Premier League last season. Liverpool are willing to meet his asking price, while Spurs are trying to negotiate a lower deal.

The England u21 international has made 110 appearances for Villa in all competitions, scoring and creating 24 goals. He was a standout performer last season as Steve Bruce’s men reached the Championship playoff final against Fulham.

Villa’s defeat at Wembley meant another season in the second tier and a financial hit that could lead owner Dr tony Xia to sell the club’s best assets to make up the deficit.

Grealish is one of many players expected to be up for sale this summer, but he won’t leave for less than £40m. Tottenham reportedly won’t offer more than £20m, which could lead to Liverpool landing his signature.

The S*n say the Reds are ‘willing to pay more’ than Tottenham to bring Grealish to Anfield and it’s unlikely the forward will rule out a move to such a big club if it means playing in the Premier League and Champions League next season. Villa need the money so they’ll be pushing players out the door.
