According to the Express, Spanish La Liga side Villarreal are interested in Celtic striker Moussa Dembele and could agree a £15m deal for his signature after making £35m spending money through the sale of Cedric Bakambu to Chinese side Beijing Guoan in January.

Dembele joined Celtic from Fulham in 2016 and has scored and created 64 goals in 85 games in all competitions. The 21-year-old has contributed 15 goals in 23 league games this season and has helped the Hoops all but seal their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership title.

However, Villarreal could bring the French u21 international to the Estadio de la Cerámica this summer if they can agree a fee. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has desperate to keep Dembele at Parkhead given how prolific he’s been in Scotland, but the centre-forward is rumoured to want to leave.

Despite winning the Scottish Premiership title, Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup in his first season at Parkhead, Dembele’s future has been uncertain. English Premier League newcomers Brighton & Hove Albion tried and failed to sign him in January.

Chelsea and Arsenal continue to be linked with the striker too, although neither club have made an official approach.

Celtic travel to Easter Road to face Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday. The Hoops could seal the title with a win and are big favourites to get the job done.
