Celtic had been linked with Yeovil Town defender Tom James since March, but Bristol Post have revealed the Hoops have competition from Bristol City for his signature.
The 21-year-old joined Yeovil from Cardiff City in January 2017 and has gone on to make 48 appearances in all competition for the Glovers. James, a Welsh u19 international, has been linked with Swansea City, Aston Villa and Bournemouth which could make it difficult for Celtic to bring him to Parkhead.
Yeovil’s defender is a right-back but can reportedly play anywhere across the backline and will be out of contract in a year’s time. After struggling for playing time in the first few weeks of the season, he’s gone on to make 32 League Two appearances this season in a Yeovil side currently 18th in the table.
Their defensive record hasn’t been too impressive, however, with them shipping 64 goals in 40 games, but James remains highly-rated among a lot of British clubs. He hasn’t missed a league game for Yeovil since mid-October 2017 and has been on the losing side in League Two just once since March 10.
With so much interest in his signature, his future is uncertain.
