According to The S*n, Celtic could lose loan striker Odsonne Edouard this summer as Portuguese outfit Vitoria de Guimaraes have been promised the 20-year-old next season.
Edouard joined Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan and has enjoyed a prolific debut season at Parkhead, scoring and creating 11 goals in 26 appearances. He’s yet to make a senior appearance for the Parisians but has made a real name for himself in Scotland.
His form led to Celtic considering a £7m buying option this summer, but it looks like they will miss out on his signature. Edouard ‘s parent club PSG have set up a partnership with Vitoria that will see them send their best young talents to Portugal.
The S*n say sporting director Antero Henrique has promised Edouard to the Vitoria after a recent meeting in Paris. He has more than two years left on his deal with PSG and is now expected to be loaned out for another season to maintain his development with competitive football.
It’s a major blow as Celtic were hoping to make the striker’s loan deal permanent but will now be forced to shop for a replacement in the summer transfer window. Werder Bremen’s Lennart Thy is believes to be a target, although he’s played down talk of an exit.
