So far this January transfer window, Celtic have only completed the signing of Germany international Marvin Compper and winger Lewis Morgan.

If reports are anything to go by then Chelsea’s young star Charly Musonda is closing in on a move to join Scottish champions Celtic on a lengthy 18-months loan deal.

Despite coming on for a rare appearance in Chelsea‘s 4-0 victory against Brighton and Hove Albion last week, the under-21 Belgium international struggled to make his way to the first team, prompting a loan move away from the club.

He failed to follow up on his nine-minute cameo against Brighton, as he was omitted from the following squad that was knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Arsenal.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping that his side can complete the signing of the 21-year-old attacking midfielder, but are going to face strong competition from La Liga side Leganes who are reported to be monitoring his situations at Stamford Bridge.

However, report from the Daily Mail is reporting that Musonda is likely to be part of Chelsea’s squad fourth-round FA Cup clash against Newcastle United before heading up north to complete his loan move to Celtic.

Should Celtic be able to complete the move for Musonda, this will be Rodgers’ third signing of the January transfer window after the Hoops previously signed Germany international Marvin Compper and winger Lewis Morgan.

The Chelsea attacking midfielder won’t be the last addition to his squad anyway, with the Northern Irish boss pushing for the signing of Dundee defender Jack Hendry before next Wednesday’s deadline. However, Dundee boss Neil McCann rejected the Scottish champions first bid of £500k, branding the offer for the 22-year-old as ‘very low’, instead, asking for £1.5m.

It’s believe that the club will likely return to increase their offer for £1.5m-rated before the transfer deadline, and will also be hoping that the Chelsea’s starlet survives Sunday’s FA Cup clash injury-free.
