Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is believed to have agreed a deal in principle to sign for Italian club Juventus in the summer according to Sky Sports.
The Germany international has been linked with the current reigning Serie A champions for sometime now and they tried to hijack him away from Merseyside in the summer without success.
Can is in the final year of his Liverpool contract and is free to have talks with foreign clubs as he is in the last six months of his deal with the Merseyside, however it is believed that Liverpool are still trying to keep him at Anfield and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is willing to let the situation go on until the end of the season if it means his player stays. However, nothing is yet in place according to the player himself who is prepared to wait until the end of the current campaign.
Can said:
“My agent is looking after everything but I am here until the summer. I haven’t signed anything (with Juventus) or anyone.”
“I am talking with everyone, of course I am talking with Liverpool. Why not? I still have a contract here. It is an amazing club. What can I say? My agent does the rest.
“I just concentrate on my performance and the football. I will give everything for this team,” the German added.
He joined Liverpool in the summer of 2014 for a reported £10m fee and his all-action style and versatility have seen him become a big player in in the club registering 106 appearances and scoring eight goals.
It doesn’t appear that all the speculation regarding Can’s future is affecting his performance on the pitch for the club though, as he played the full 90 minutes for the Reds on Sunday launch-time where they battled to a 4-3 win in the Premier League clash with Manchester City at the Anfield, with new record signing missing out due to injury.
It was thought at one point that he could be leaving Liverpool this January window but that looks impossible now, especially as it as his teammate Philippe Coutinho has leave the club for Barcelona and Klopp doesn’t look all good to part with another player right now.
The latest news regarding his saga is that Juve are poised to make a bid for the German and it is also understood that Liverpool already have potential replacements lined up in the shape of AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar and Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
