Brendan Rodger’s Celtic side have been linked with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.

According to Turkish news publication Fanatik, Moussa Dembele has revealed interest to stay at Celtic until the end of the season, meaning that the Scottish reigning champions will not make a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

It has been reported that latter has decided to remain at the Park Head for the rest of the season despite keen interest from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this week.

The Gambling Times have mentioned Celtic with interest in Liverpool striker Sturridge, but according to Fanatik, Demebele’s decision to remain at Celtic mean for Brighton means Rodgers’ side are no long in the race for the Liverpool striker.

Report via the Turkish outlet claimed Fenerbahce are the only serious club interested in Sturridge and will try approaching Liverpool for a loan deal for the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker.

Sturridge is a brilliant striker who worked with Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, but the report of Dembele willing to continue plying his trade in Scotland for Celtic until the end of the season should be a good news for the fans. The Frenchman is rated one of the best young strikers in Europe, who now has a total of 40-goals in 70 appearances for Celtic.
