According to reports from Italy, Manchester United are quietly planning a plot to move for Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić as a possible replacement for their midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Reds manager, Jose Mourinho has been quite impressed and grown fond of Fellaini since the beginning of the season and the Portugese manager has made the Belgian increase in performance over the past seasons, since he has been appointed as new manager. Several football predictions didn’t see the Belgian midfielder perform this way.
Therefore, it was believed and expected that United will be looking to give Fellaini a contract extension, in which he was offered, but coming as a shock, the Belgian international is yet to put pen to paper on any fresh deal at Old Trafford.
Series of rumors have covered that the 30-year-old midfielder wage demands is larger than what the Red Devils prepared, and there is a big possibility that the Belgian could leave Old Trafford in the upcoming January transfer window.
United are now set to find a new replacement for Fellaini should he leave the club as expected, and as stated by Calcio Mercato, the English club are currently eyeing Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić.
The 22-year-old have been formerly linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past as well as Fellaini also linked with a move away from the Red devils in the past. Savic has been tagged as a long-term target for Mourinho, who could force a move in a tempting offer of £70 million.
Savic has been very impressive for club this campaign, the Serbian has bagged six goals in 19 appearances for Lazio, that currently sits at position five in the Serie A and where Serie A predictions will see more improvement in the rest of the season.
