Manchester City are reportedly lining up a brilliant move for Chelsea and Belgium international Eden Hazard.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Spanish outlet reports that City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the Blues winger and he is desperate wide midfielder to bring him to the Etihad Stadium next summer.
The report adds that Guardiola’s side are not the only side interested in the Belgian as Champions League and La Liga winners Real Madrid are also keen to secure the Belgian’s signature.
Hazard to Man City good move for Chelsea?
Chelsea will find it extremely difficult to fend off Man City interest in Hazard especially if they continue their sensational form and go on to win the big trophies this season.
Antonio Conte‘s side have struggled to show last season’s performances and the West London club already find themselves nine points behind current leaders with only ten matches played so far.
Although the Blues have endured a poor start to the season, they have been peppered with injuries to key players – Hazard being one of them.
Due to an injury he picked up on international duty with Belgium earlier in the summer, the Belgian’s slowly starting to find his best form this season, contributing with an assist in the home victory over Watford before scoring the winning goal for Chelsea against AFC Bournemouth on the weekend.
Chelsea cannot afford to sell their star man to strengthen rivals side both abroad and domestically regardless of who comes knocking nor how much money both sides are willing to pay for Hazard.
With his current contract at Stamford Bridge expiring in 2022, both interested sides will need to break the bank in order to sign if Chelsea should consider parting ways with him.
Is it likely Hazard leave Chelsea?
There has been intense rumours surrounding the Belgian’s future with Chelsea for past couple of seasons but the winger wide man appears to be enjoying life in London.
Furthermore, the reigning Premier League champions have surely learnt from past mistakes in selling Nemanja Matic to EPL rivals Manchester United this summer, which means that Hazard leaving Chelsea to join forces with Guardiola will not happen anytime soon.
Real Madrid is likely to be his preferred destination but it would mean that the Champions League holders would need to offload one of their attacking trio in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, with Gareth Bale and at this stage, that is unlikely to happen.
It is possible to that Hazard would like to assess how Chelsea fared come the end of the season in terms of winning trophies before making a decision until then, no one can predict what could happen.
