Real Madrid and Barcelona players dominate the 2016/17 FIFPro World XI, with no player in the Premier League making a spot.

A record number of 26,662 players from 71 countries voted for the team, choosing a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.

Paris St-Germain’s Neymar, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and AC Milan’s Leonardo Bonucci are the only players in this year’s team who did not make the FIFAPro last year.

In front of Buffon, the back four is made up of Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and Marcelo along with Bonucci and Dani Alves – both of whom left Juve in the summer to team up with AC Milan and PSG respectively.

The midfield is all La Liga, with Real Madrid duo Luka Modric and Toni Kross included alongside Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta.

There are no surprises in the front three, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo joined by Neymar, who became the most expensive player in the world when he joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer.

Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane was named the 2017 Best FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year.

The Frenchman received the award after guiding Real to the La Liga title and the Champions League last season.

Also in runner up for the award were Antonio Conte, who won the Premier League in his first season at the Stamford Bridge, and his Juventus successor Massimiliano Allegri, who won three consecutive Serie A and Cup doubles in Italy.

Sarina Wiegman was named women’s coach of the year after leading the Netherlands to their first major woman’s title at the European Championship in August.
