Alan Brazil has suggest on his Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT, broadcast January 9, that Scottish champions Celtic should be considering a move for Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen.

The 24-year-old Dutch midfielder is linked with a move from the Goodison Park and BBC Sport in one of their Everton reports last week, claimed he could be among those set to leave Everton this January.

The former Ajax captain has struggle to adapt to life at the Premier League following his £23.6 million move to Toffees’ team in the summer.

And Celtic fan Brazil suggested on his Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT, that Celtic should consider a move for the Netherlands international.

He said:

“Everton it looks like are trying to get rid of Klaassen. I wonder if Celtic should go for Klaassen. They know all about him from the Champions League when Ajax beat Celtic.”

The Eredivisie side beat Ronny Deila’s then-Celtic side 2-1 in Glasgow in the Europa League over two years ago in a clash where Klaassen played the full 90 minutes for Ajax.

But the question is whether Brendan Rodgers need another midfielder in his team. It’s doubtful and no one can say much to that. Rodgers already has in his rank the likes of Stuart Armstrong, Scott Brown, Tom Rogic, Olivier Ntcham and Nir Bitton.

Without any doubt, the Everton midfielder would be a decent signing for Celtic, but the Toffees will be looking to gain as much money as possible if they are to sanction Klaassen’s sale and even if they manager recoup half of their outlay, that’s still around £12 million and well out of Celtic’s range.
