Everton were 2-0 down away against Chelsea on Sunday and there were plenty of things to learn from their defeat.

The Toffees lost their first Premier League game of the season and it leaves them with four points from their opening three fixtures going into the international break.

Ronald Koeman’s men looked off the pace at Stamford Bridge and some will blame that towards their Thursday night game in their Europa League qualifier.

The Blues dominated the match throughout and got their decisive goals in the first-half, with Spanish duo Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata getting on the scoresheet.

The Merseyside club were without several first team players who are on a long injury list, but still managed to put together a starting line-up that would have hoped for a more competitive game.

Football Weeks considers three talking points from their defeat to Antonio Conte’s side, including how the Everton boss must not strengthen the core of his team particularly his attack in the remainder of the transfer window.
