West Ham United look set to make Fulham’s Ryan Fredericks their first signing of the summer and should follow it up with a move for Celtic star.
The Hammers are reportedly showing interest in a number of Fulham players this season and were also linked with a bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele during the summer and again were linked with him in the January transfer window.
West Ham have seen their club turned around under new boss David Moyes and look set to preserve their Premier League status after a poor start to the season. Moyes’ reported interest in Cottagers midfield star Tom Cairney was rebuffed back in January.
But Fulham could be powerless to stop the East Londoners making Ryan Fredericks their first signing of the summer when the 25-year-old is available on a free transfer.
According to Football.London, the tabloid report that Fredericks is one of Moyes’ top targets if the Scottish is expected to keep his job beyond May.
The Hammers were linked with a move for Fredericks – who is rated at €2 million according to Transfermkt – during the January transfer window but a move failed to materialized, instead seemingly biding their time to wait until they can sign the right back for absolutely nothing in a matter of months.
The 25-year-old has been a sensational signing for the Cottagers since his 2015 move for Bristol City, becoming one of the Championship’ most impressive full backs whilst creating five assists in 30 games this season.
However, should West Ham come calling for the player, they might be powerless in fending off the Premier League giants interest in Frederick as they are keen on making the player their first signing of the summer when he is available on a free transfer.
And Moyes should also look to use his influence in Scotland to reunite with the former Fulham player Dembele. The duo struck up a great understanding at Craven Cottage and Fredericks provided assists for many of the Frenchman’s goals in West London.
Celtic are reportedly open to offers for the striker who possesses a key attribute West Ham have been searching for up front for some time… pace.
