Paul Pogba v Christian Eriksen
Paul Pogba since winning the World Cup with France in July, has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons and his agent Mino Raiola was getting involved in a Twitter spat with Paul Scholes on Tuesday. All this has seen the Frenchman linked away from Old Trafford this summer, but the former Juventus man looks likely to remain a United player but would need to start delivering on a consistent basis.
Pogba’s 13 goals and 14 assists in 62 Premier League appearances since returning to United does not match with Tottenham playmaker, Christian Eriksen, who has scored 18 goals and laid on 26 assists in 75 games during the same period. But WhoScored ratings for 2017/18 season shows Pogba having more ratings (7.48) than the Danish footballer who’s rated at 7.40 with Pass success percentage for the former at 85.3 and 82.4 for the latter.
Though, some will say they are different types of player as Eriksen is more of an influential figure for Tottenham, while Pogba is primarily a central midfielder, although he is also capable of playing on the left, in a holding role, as a deep-lying playmaker, in a box-to-box role, or even as an attacking midfielder but still below Eriksen in every aspect on-field.
