The 26-year-old has risen through the ranks from the Celtic youth team to the first-team, making 285 appearances in all competitions at senior level. Forrest has won six league titles, three Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups since making his debut eight years ago.
However, his future was deemed uncertain this summer as he entered the final year of his contract without no contract extension being agreed, but the winger has been public in his desire to stay at Celtic and hopes to end his playing career with the Hoops.
“I’d like to stay here for the rest of my career because I’ve only ever played for Celtic. I have to work hard and be at my best every day or I’ll not be here.
“I’d love to be here for as long as I possibly can and hopefully that will happen. It’s strange to even think about playing for any other club, I’ve been here since I was nine.
Forrest has been in fantastic form this season, scoring and creating 13 goals in 30 league games, and says the 2017/18 campaign has been his best-ever for Celtic.
“This has definitely been my best season at Celtic because I’ve hit double figures for goals.
“But I don’t think about that too much, with so many big games coming up. I just want to do my best for the team and I’ll see where that takes me.”
The 26-year-old has played in every Champions League game this season, in the qualifiers and group stage and Europa League knockouts, while featuring in every Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup game this season. He’s indispensable and in fine form, so long may that continue.
