Celtic v Rangers | Premiership preview | Hoops to seal title with Old Firm Derby win

Celtic welcome fierce rivals Rangers to Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon, knowing a draw or a win will see them seal a seventh consecutive league title and back-to-back crowns under Brendan Rodgers.

The Hoops are currently top of the table with 75 points from 34 games, 10 clear of second-placed Rangers ahead of their weekend meeting. Celtic haven’t been in the best form, however, winning only two of their last five outings in the division, but they have been more consistent on home soil.

At Parkhead, Rodgers’ men are unbeaten in their 16 games, boasting 10 wins and six draws. Celtic have an outstanding record against Rangers too, with eight wins and two draws from their last 10 head-to-heads in all competitions. In addition to winning 3-2 at Ibrox last month, Celtic thrashed Rangers 4-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final on April 15.

As for the visitors, Graeme Murty‘s side come into Sunday’s clash off the back of two wins and a draw from their last three, so they’ll be hoping for a better outcome to this Old Firm derby. Rangers have been strong on the road this season too, boasting a better points-per-game ratio (2.25) than Celtic (2.16).

Celtic look destined to lift the title this season, but Rangers won’t want it to be on their watch. Hibernian managed to delay celebrations by pulling off an impressive win at Easter Road last Saturday, but can Rangers do the same a week later?
