Brendan Rodgers Working To Help Celtic Sign Another Mega Superstars

Brendan Rodgers hope to complete a deadline-busting double deal with Dundee for £1million rated defender Jack Hendry and back-up goalkeeper Scott Bian.

The Scottish champions are now 14 points clear at the top of the Premiership last night, a 3-1 win over Hearts avenging their last month’s mauling four-goal defeat at Tynecastle.

Charly Musonda received a warming reception as he entered as a substitute hours after signing an 18-month loan deal from Chelsea. An now Rodgers hopes to add Dundee centre back Hendry before the window closes tonight after slapping in a second bid worth £1m.

Bain would be out of contract in the summer and the Scotsman could also come in for a nominal fee to provide cover for the injured Celtic’s NO. 1 Craig Gordon if Hibs agree to sell him from a loan spell..

‘Ideally, we’ll have a goalkeeper and one other,’ said Rodgers after his side’s victory. ‘I’ve been in a game for 90 minutes, so I don’t know what the story is at the moment.

‘I’ll need to speak to Peter (Lawwell), but there was nothing changed before the game. We want to bring in another goalkeeper, but there’s been lots of names fired at us. We will have one (goalkeeper) in by the end of play.’

A £200,000 bid for Motherwell’s was reported rejected on Monday and Rodgers also looked at Arsenal’s Leeds-bound loan keeper Emiliano Martinez.

‘I could sit here all day and go through the names,’ said Rodgers. ‘But he (Bain) is one of many mentioned. We want a goalkeeper that fits our idea of how we play. That’s important.

‘Whoever comes in has to be able to play with his feet and build the game, but, most importantly, make saves.’

Speaking after Dundee triumph over Inverness, Dens boss Neil McCann said of the interest in the goalkeeper and Hendry:

‘I’ve just heard, so I can honestly say I don’t know. If you ask me about Jack right now, I can’t give you any answers because I’ve been preparing for the game.

‘I told them, anything to do with speculation and transfers, I wasn’t interested. It was about getting through in the cup.’
